Electrically operated valves – Series ICK

High-performance valves for extreme conditions

The ICK series from AIRTEC offers electrically actuated valves that are characterized by their robust design and their ability to operate reliably even under extreme temperatures. With valve designs such as 5/2-way and 5/3-way valves, this series is an excellent choice for controlling pneumatic systems and automated processes.

The series comprises two variants: ICK-09 and ICK-10. The ICK-09 valves are equipped with a G1/8 connection and a nominal width of 6 mm, while the ICK-10 valves offer a G1/4 connection and a nominal width of 9 mm to enable larger flow rates. Both variants are designed for temperature ranges from -30°C to +80°C and are equipped with an IP 65 protection rating, which guarantees protection against dust and water.

The valves in the ICK series support DC voltages of 12 V and 24 V, making them easy to integrate into electrical control systems. Whether in automation technology, pneumatics or special industrial applications - the ICK series delivers reliable performance, even under demanding conditions.

FAQs

Frequently asked questions about solenoid valves, applications and customised solutions from AIRTEC.

When is an electrically actuated valve the right choice over a pneumatically actuated one?

Electrically actuated valves are ideal for use in electrical control architectures. Solenoid valves integrate directly into PLC systems. They require no separate pneumatic control signal and allow centralized control via fieldbus or a multi-pin connector. If, on the other hand, no power supply is available, or operation is required in hazardous (Ex) areas without electrical certification, pneumatic actuation is the simpler choice.

How do ATEX versions of electrical valves differ from those of pneumatic valves?

With pneumatic valves, the ATEX version often differs little in design from the standard valve. With electrical valves, the ATEX version must always feature a specially certified solenoid, for example an encapsulated coil in which all live parts are fully enclosed. ATEX solenoid valves must therefore be ordered explicitly as such.

Are UL/CSA-approved versions available?

Yes. For export to North America, AIRTEC solenoid valves can be equipped with UL/CSA-approved solenoid coils.

What compressed air quality is required for the electrically actuated valves?

All AIRTEC solenoid valves are rated for compressed air according to ISO 8573-1:2010, Class 7:2:4 (filtered, oil-free, and dried). The pressure dew point must be at least 10 °C below the lowest ambient temperature encountered. The requirements are identical to those of the pneumatically actuated series.
