Reliability and flexibility for extreme requirements
The KMX series from AIRTEC offers electrically actuated valves that impress with their high performance and versatility. These valves have been specially developed for use in demanding conditions and are ideal for controlling pneumatic systems and automated processes. With valve designs such as 5/2-way and 5/3-way valves, the KMX series meets a wide range of control requirements.
The series comprises two variants: KMX-09 and KMX-10. The KMX-09 valves have a G1/8 connection and a nominal width of 6 mm, while the KMX-10 valves with a G1/4 connection and a nominal width of 9 mm allow larger flow rates. Both variants are suitable for extreme temperatures from -30°C to +80°C and offer a protection rating of IP 65, which guarantees protection against dust and water.
In addition, optional ATEX certification is available to enable use in potentially explosive atmospheres. The valves in the KMX series support DC voltages of 12 V and 24 V and therefore offer a high degree of flexibility when it comes to integration into electrical control systems. Whether in automation technology or in special industrial applications - the valves in the KMX series deliver reliable performance and the highest quality.

Electrically actuated valves are ideal for use in electrical control architectures. Solenoid valves integrate directly into PLC systems. They require no separate pneumatic control signal and allow centralized control via fieldbus or a multi-pin connector. If, on the other hand, no power supply is available, or operation is required in hazardous (Ex) areas without electrical certification, pneumatic actuation is the simpler choice.
With pneumatic valves, the ATEX version often differs little in design from the standard valve. With electrical valves, the ATEX version must always feature a specially certified solenoid, for example an encapsulated coil in which all live parts are fully enclosed. ATEX solenoid valves must therefore be ordered explicitly as such.
Yes. For export to North America, AIRTEC solenoid valves can be equipped with UL/CSA-approved solenoid coils.
All AIRTEC solenoid valves are rated for compressed air according to ISO 8573-1:2010, Class 7:2:4 (filtered, oil-free, and dried). The pressure dew point must be at least 10 °C below the lowest ambient temperature encountered. The requirements are identical to those of the pneumatically actuated series.
